December 2023 Term End Examinations of IGNOU to commence from 1st December, 2023.
The December 2023 Term-end Examinations of the Indira Gandhi National Open University for various Academic Programmes offered by the University will commence from 1st of December, 2023 and will conclude on 9th of January, 2024.
The University has established 849 Examination Centres across the Country. Under Jammu Region, 30 Examination Centres have been established out of which 26 Examination Centres are regular Exam Centres and three Examination Centres in District Jail Kathua, District Jail Ambphalla and Central Jail Kot Bhalwal Jammu exclusively for Jail inmates and also one Examination Centre in Northern Command Udhampur exclusively for Army personnel.A total of 29,868 eligible students have filled their examination forms under the Regional Centre Jammu who are appearing in the exams in around 1,55,000 sittings in the region. The examinations would be conducted in two sessions every working day. The morning session would be from 10AM till 1PM and evening session would be from 2PM to 5PM. There would be no examination on Sundays and Govt. gazetted holidays.

The Students must possess a valid Photo Identity Card issued by the University/Government during the Examination. Mobile phones and any other electronic gadgets are not permitted inside the examination halls. Any candidate found using or in possession of such unauthorized material or indulging in copying or adopting unfair means, the matter will be registered with the police & U.F.M.
Dr. Jai Prakash Verma, who has taken over the charge of IGNOU Regional Centre Jammu as the Regional Director on 21st November, 2023, informed that the RC has already requested local administration to help the Regional Centre Jammu in maintaining law and order and sanctity of examinations by deploying security personnel at all the Examination Centres to keep check on unscrupulous elements. Dr. Verma also informed that Postal authorities of the region have also been requested to cooperate with our Examination Centres to accept the insured parcels containing Answer Sheets from them beyond the working hours of Post Offices so that the Answer Sheets are dispatched for evaluation the same day as per University protocol.
